Decorating downtown for Fall was accomplished on Saturday, October 27th by the Johnson County 4-H and Better Hometown groups. Corn stalks, scarecrows, hay bales and pumpkins have managed to withstand most of the wind we received from Hurricane Sandy, however some may need adjusting!  Many thanks to McAfee Packing and Piggly Wiggly of Wrightsville for their donations of hot dogs and buns for the complimentary lunch.  Also thanks go out to Ms. Lena Braswell of The Gourd Farm, Wrens, Georgia, for her donation of gourds for the gourd painting fun and to Hitchcock Farms for their donation of corn stalks.  Businesses, churches and all county organizations were urged to participate with prizes being awarded to the school age participants. Winners are: ?1st Place: ($40.00) Love Birds by Carley Stapleton; ?2nd Place ($25.00) Peachy Fisherman by Anna Holland and Acacia Cordy; ?3rd Place ($15.00 )Ms Super Clover by 4-H Shianne Johnson and Charlie Price.
