Spotlight

We are Community Missionary Baptist Church located in Wrightsville, Georgia at 863 James Grove Church Road. Our Pastor, Rev. Clifford L. Hunter Jr., is a native of Johnson County. Our Mission is to empower people for Kingdom Living and we do this by proper teaching and preaching of God’s word thereby equipping the saints of God to the extent of doing God’s will effectively in communities, on our jobs,  in our homes and in our nation while allowing us as a church to alter our situations through the power of God (mission statement).

We have 16 active ministries. Some of these ministries have played prominent roles in our quest to build the community. CMBC’s Youth Choir and Liturgical Dance Team have participated in the American Red Cross Hero Jam, performed for AFAC (The Lighthouse Advocate for Alzheimer’s Care) in Dublin, and at present, work closely with Community Youth in Action, an organization in Wrightsville that is striving to offer children a positive alternative from the negative streets and gang activity.  It is our prayer that we can provide life changing experiences by posing new perspectives through God’s teachings to all of our youth. CMBC’s Outreach ministry has also been instrumental in community care. We have sponsored a clothing drive for Johnson and surrounding Counties as well as a Christian based basketball tournament.  CMBC’s men’s fraternity (Omega Chi Sigma Tau/Ordered Christ like and Standing Tall) had its 1st annual cook off this past October, which was a huge success. Seniors in Action, a ministry focused on the elderly of the church, sponsors an annual fishing rodeo for young men in the community. Our women’s ministry, Women on the Move, does community visitations of sick and shut in people. CMBC’s drama ministry and Mass Choir performed the original stage play “Saved by Grace” at the Dublin theatre on two different occasions. The Mass Choir also performed during the Johnson County Crusade for Christ.  CMBC also has a thriving radio ministry on 107.9 fm and 1330 am every Sunday morning at 11:00 am.  As you can see, we have been busy during our first four years of existence.

CMBC has great goals and plans for the future of Wrightsville and the world.  We pray that God will continue to allow our ministry to play an integral role in community improvement.  We hope to continue such projects as our annual Cook-Off, Basketball Tournament, clothing drive, and FEMA funds dispersion. We are also preparing for a life center that will provide CMBC with the space and functionality to incorporate more exciting things in the future allowing us to continue to build the kingdom of God. For more information, our address is P.O. Box 606 Wrightsville, GA. 31096. On the web, you can locate us at http://www.cmbcminitries.com.  CMBC’s public relations representative is Robyne Taylor.  Her email address and phone number are as follows:
