The Tour Committee is busy planning a Christmas by Candlelight Tour of Homes to remember. December 7th is the date so please mark your calendars.
The 2011 Fourth of July Festival Committee will sponsor a Boston Butt sale on August 21 with pick-up between the hours of 9 am and 12 noon at the courthouse. This sale will help offset the expenses of fireworks for the 2011 Old Fashioned Fourth of July Festival. Please call 864-7079 or 864-1223 for information and to order tickets. Also tickets on sale at the depot. Please give this worthwhile project your support!
Another successful Old Fashioned Fourth of July Festival has come and gone and the community is indebted to the 4th of July Festival Committee for a job well done! Thanks to all the Festival Committee Members as well as the Fireworks Team, the Firecracker Race Team, the Johnson County Arts Council and all those organizations that sponsored an event. The Johnson County Commission has provided for the W & T Depot to be rented for family and community events by the Better Hometown organization. To reserve a date, simply fill out the application and return it to the Better Hometown Director at the Depot.
The Johnson County Board of Commissioners requests that everyone in the county please prominently display their new 911 addresses. This will insure that, if needed, emergency management and law enforcement agencies will have no problem locating your home.
