For many years Wrightsville and Johnson County have commemorated our nation’s founding with a much anticipated, yearly Old Fashioned Fourth of July Festival. The celebration began with the county’s participation in the Bi-Centennial Celebration in 1976 and has continued yearly with the exception of one year. Come join our celebration of this great nation’s founding! All events this year will take place on Saturday, July 4th with old fashioned events on the courthouse square, a parade, food, games, arts & crafts, 5K/10K Firecracker Road Races, a one mile Fun Run, a street dance and more. A worship and veterans’ service will be held on Wednesday, July 7th at Mt. Olive Church of the Nazarene: 7:00 pm with guest speaker the Rev. Chris Mitchell. The theme of the worship service is God and Country. If you are looking for small town fun with an emphasis on family – visit the City of Wrightsville, Johnson County, Georgia, on July 4th and participate in our community’s annual Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration.

Thanks to everyone for making the 2013 Chamber of Commerce Lite-a-Lite with Santa a great success! There were over 300 youngsters, of all ages, who enjoyed a visit with Santa. Every child got to sit on Santa’s knee and even J.D. the dog got to give Santa his list. Thanks to the community for coming together and making this happen. Great entertainment was provided by the Dance Explosion and the Johnson County High School Band. Hot chocolate was provided by Marty Thompson and his staff at State Farm Insurance. The Chamber would lie to thank everyone who contributed in making the event a great success. The Lite-a-Lite Tree with Santa will take place on December 5th, 2014. Please look out for more information.
